LITHOGRAPHED MOTHER HUBBARD'S NEST OF BLOCKS
1889, McLoughlin Bros., NY
ten graduated wood blocks, the sides of with colored lithographs, each block depicting a different story book tale incl. Jack & the Beanstalk, Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, Babes in the Woods, Tom Thumb, Puss & Boots, Goody Two-Shoes, The Three Bears, etc.; the tops with alphabets; the largest 7"h; 7.5"sq.; the smallest 6"h; 2.75"sq.
The consignor's mother father collected dolls and toys for many years creating a small museum for the enjoyment of the patients and their families at the nursing home which they operated in the 1950's.
Slide top of largest block missing; paper loss here and there, particularly at corners and edges, appropriate for age and use.
