Cooper, initially a sculptor and painter, started designing table lamps in 1920's. His company way sold after WWII, and it flourished in Chicago adding floor lamps, modernist lamp and creating styles such as Hollywood Regency, collaborating with such designers as Mario Buatta and Larry Laslo. Wildwood Lamp Co., in High Point, NC, acquired Frederick Cooper in 2011 continuing Cooper's vision.
