Gary Langenbach (1948-2024) Kingston, Massachusetts - our friend, fellow antiques dealer, historian and collector.;
After being a high school science teacher for many years, Gary opened up his antique shop in Kingston, Ma. specializing in baseball memorabilia, lighting and objects of historical relevance regarding American, and particularly Massachusetts history. A staunch environmentalist and conservationist, Gary served on the Board of Directors of the Wildlands Trust in Kingston for over two decades. He was a member and sometimes chair of four town committees. He was an original member of the Open Space Committee for six years; the Conservation Commission for twenty years; the Recycling Committee for thirteen years; and the Community Preservation Committee for two years. Under his leadership, the Open Space Committee produced the town's first Open Space plan. During his tenure Kingston and Southwest Massachusetts preserved many important parcels of open space.
