Provenance: This entire collection of works from the estate of Ernest Morenon, per Pierre Morenon, son of Ernest Morenon, Providence, RI.
Morenon was elected to the National Academy of Design 1971 and 1978.
Morenon studied at the Paris Ecole des Beaux-Artes where he was a student of Jules Coutan and Paul Landowski. In 1925 he received first prize at the Bridan Prize competition. In 1933 he was second at the Grand Prix of Rome.
He died January 30, 2003 on the eve of his 99th birthday in Providence, RI.
