The name of the religious friar is Dutch - the maker's name could be Spanish.Very complex mixed media. The bodies of the figures are applied, painted cut-outs; some elements (i.e., stair risers) are applied cut-out textiles. Other parts (i.e. trees) are needlework.
Some loss to paper steps which are applied painted paper; both have some loss of gilt beaded border; one frame has missing piece of gilt.
