Little is known about Poitvin beyond his sculptures and car mascots during the 1920's and 1930's which appeared in the Hermes catalogues of that era presented as prestigious radiator caps. A five inch car mascot of this same design won the Medaille d'Or at the Paris Auto Show in 1922. Poitvan worked for Hermes - whether as a free-lance designer, or as an employee is unclear.
