20th c., nine samurai in a landscape wearing raised gilt armour; four red kanji signature marks on bottom; 3.5"h; 8.5"diam.; in original cloth covered box
From a Cambridge, Massachusetts home, purchased by the present owner's mother during a trip to Japan in the 1960's.
Gilt rubbed here and there, a spot of gilt rubbing inner side of bowl where bowl was picked up and slight surface scratches at edge (ring on hand), same place.
