Born in Framingham, MA. (1914-2006) Gregory taught at Black Mountain from 1941 to 1947. Later in her life she moved to Concord, Massachusetts and did many commissions in Cambridge and the surrounding areas. The college, founded in 1933 (until 1957), was a small experimental college in the mountains of North Carolina . It changed the course of American education and modern art. Among its graduates are Willem and Elaine de Kooning, Robert Rauschenberg, Josef and Anni Albers, Jacob Lawrence, Merce Cunningham, John Cage, Cy Twombly, Kenneth Noland, Susan Weil, Vera B. Williams, Ben Shahn, and Buckminster Fuller.

One armchair has a broken leather seat; high chair has hole in leather seat.
