VICTORIAN RENAISSANCE REVIVAL PARTNER'S DESK, PABST
c. 1870- 1875, maker: Daniel Pabst (American/b. Germany, 1826-1910 )
overall ornately carved walnut, three frieze drawers to both sides with carved lion head pulls and relief carved scrolling vines; writing slide to each end; ring-turned legs joined by x-stretcher; huge carved lion paw feet; 30"h; 60"w; 36"d
Due to differences in color displays when viewed on various monitors, colors may not be accurate. This desk surface is not over-refinished. It is mellow and attractive. A similar model is on loan to the Met in New York City (currently not on view).
