BRAZILIAN COLONIAL SILVER MANIOC (YUCA) FLOUR BOWL
1800-1850, overall scrolling and floral engraved design; 3"h; 7.25"diam; 8.5 troy oz., 266 gr.
Collector's note: "In order to sprinkle an even layer of flour on food, and then to pat it gently and evenly with the base of the bowl, meant that the walls had to be extremely thin. Over time the metal would often crack, rendering the bowl useless."
See Christies, auction #8550, November 1996, lot 64 for similar example.

Estimate: $2,000 - $3,000
