SPANISH COLONIAL SILVER CROWN OF THORNS
Guatemala, 18th c., faint crown mark; a triple ring of twigs with (14) thorns with etched leaves; 8" by 9"; 7.5 troy oz., 234 gr.
Collector's note: The large size of this crown indicates it must have adorned a massive Christ figure similar to the Nazarene of the Merced in Antigua, Guatemala.
