Guatemala, 18th c.; very fine carved figure wearing a feathered helmet, holding a silver staff, having silver wings; gilt sleeves and trousers, and gilt floral decoration on his blue shirt giving the impression of brocade; his face and hands in flesh tones (encarnado); glass eyes; 9.5"tall
Collector's note: Traces of a red under his coat comes from iron oxide originating in northern Guatemala.
Right hand has partial fingers missing.
