FINELY ENGRAVED ALLEGHENY COUNTY RIFLE
overall 49", mid 19th c.; finely engraved silver furniture; half-stock percussion sgn. on top barrel flat ??BROWN/ PITTSg PA; .36 caliber; 33-5/8" octagon seven-groove barrel with engraved 2.75" spear point tang; 4-7/8" x 1" finely engraved indistinguishable signed lock plate; 8.75" trigger guard having double set triggers with adjusting screw; finely engraved Federal eagle, four-panel patch box; .75" oval escutcheon plate; finely engraved four-screw toe plate 4-5/8"; exquisite tiger maple with checkered wrist; barrel still retains deep plum patina; ramrod may be original and patchbox still retains period patches.

Butt tang finial missing the last 2.25"; period hammer sear repair and replaced hammer screw; light peppering at bolster, hammer, and breech; wood bruising and light dings throughout.
