The term 'Sansovino comes from the name of the architect Jacopo Tatti (1486-1570), a native of Florence, who was a pupil of Andrea Sansovino. He settled in Venice where he undertook major architectural works combining sculpture and architecture creating ornate and sculpted panels. The artist's work is characteristic of the Venetian style.
Some age cracks and dings; small loss to leaf tip l.l. corner.
