This service belonged to Maria Amelia Salusse Teixeira da Costa who was married to Colonel Manoel Jose Teixeira da Costa. She was the daughter of Guillaurme Marius Salusse who was an officer in Napoleon's navy. After Napoleon's defeat in 1814, he entered the French Merchant Marine and came to Brazil on an official mission. Having resigned command of his ship he moved inland to Nova Friburgo where he married Marianna Iose, a native of Confevre, Delemont.
