19TH C. CHINESE HIGH SCROLL/CALLIGRAPHY TABLE
late Qing dynasty, c. 1880, single hardwood plank top, pierce-carved apron, 41.75"h; 82.5"w; 18.5"w
These table were higher than the usual "altar table" form since they were used to stand at to unroll and look at scrolls.
Finish rubbed down on one corner; glued repair on fretwork in one place.
