foundry mark PARIS / LOUCHET / CISLEUR, with artist signature GOUJON; in the form of a bearded Bacchanalian herme on hooved feet; prisimed glass domed shade with faceted crystal finial supported by three gilt bronze arms with nouveau floral decoration; square marble base; 29"h
Paul Louchet (1854-1936), born in Paris, studied with Jules Lefebvre, and became well known in Paris as a sculptor With his brother, Albert, they opened a foundry in Paris
Electrified, prob. originally a gas lamp; repair to marble base (small filled area and re-glue of original marble pieces.
