In the 1930's the young artist, Corrado Cagli was a rising star of the Scuola Romana. He was supported by the Italian Fascist regime, despite being both Jewish and a homosexual. After the passing of the Racial Laws, he fled first to Paris, and then to America, where he remained until 1947.
