Meziat belongs to the photo-realism movement which came to public attention in New York City by artist Louis Meisel in the 1960's. Meziat began his artistic career as a musician, training at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Returning to his native Rio de Janeiro, by 1976 he dedicated himself full time to painting and has achieved rapid recognition.
