This picture was the property of the Hon. Judge Panet who bought it off Mr. Manly Deputy Sheriff of Quebec. He inherited it from Mr. Foy his Majesties Commissioner of
the Jesuits property - It was originally sent to avoid the troubles in France
with some other pictures by Pussin, Rubens etc. by the Revd. Mesins Desjardines
Vicar General of the Jesuits at Paris to the Superintendent of the Jesuits College at Quebec
for safe keeping.
