mid 19th c., top original to base, lacquered cloverleaf-form top decorated with birds and insects among flowering branches, centered figure of a Buddha with inscription; mounted on ebonized carved and gilt enhanced pedestal base with scrolling acanthus leaf feet, 30"h; 38.5" diam.
Removable top attached with four wood pegs; made for the English market.
Top has minor scratches, some rubbing to gold.
