Typed note on reverse:
My father, Fisher A. Buell, bought this oil painting, signed Roy M. Mason, at a Salamagundi Auction ca. 1931. Roy Martell Mason was born in Batavia, New York, in 1886. A faded pencil inscription on the back in the artist's hand reads: "April 5, 1930/Joe Burke's Sugar Camp." In 1924 Mr. Mason exhibited at the Pa. Academy of Fine Arts. dated and signed Oct. 26, 1989/Fisher A. Buell, Jr.
