(3) 19TH C. FRAMED GAME BOARDS
The Game of Playing Department Store, McLaughlin Bros., 1898, 41 by 23.75 in.; a late 19th c. reverse painted Parcheesi-like game board in period carved frame, 24"sq.; and a double-sided multi-game board, 16.75"sq.
From the collection of Carol Monica (1934-2018), proprietress of the iconic store Games People Play which she opened in 1974 in Harvard Sq., Cambridge, MA. "She will be remembered by admiring "gamers" for whom she was the "Grande Dame" of their passion."
Loss here and there to reverse painted game board; spinning arrow detached, but present, from Department Store Game board.
