During his lifetime, Ohio-born Landacre was considered by critics and artists, such as Rockwell Kent, as the finest American wood engraver. His prints can be found in more than 150 public collections incl. the Smithsonian American Art Museum, New York Museum of Modern Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
