This piece was introduced in 1969, discontinued in 1972. Thompson retired in 1974.
Thompson, an architect by training, joined Steuben design department upon its formation in 1936. Among his designs are "The Crown Cup" in the collection of Queen Elizabeth. His works are in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Louvre in Paris and the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi
