It is purported that this sitter is the wife of Captain Sheffield in the previous lot 53.
Lots 37-62 from the collection of a Gloucester, Massachusetts gentleman.
Area in chest where ther appears to be a repair or inpaint; also a speck of paint loss in this area. Since canvas is laid down, cannot be view from the reverse (see photo).
