Through the direct descendants of the Doggett family, the original owners to the present, the late Brewster Doggett, Wiscasset, Maine.
Christian Remick was a watercolorist who often worked with Revere. It is possible that Revere's engraving was based on Remick's, with subtle changes including the omission of "vivid" adjectives. For instance this version the title is "The Massacre perpetrated by...". In Revere's version, it is "The Bloody Massacre..." Along with Revere, this subject was also engraved by Pelham and Muliken.
As found; edges rough, and missing on each side of image; 1"vertical tear at mid-point of bottom edge.
