19th c. copy of an 18th c. French fan with signed painting of couple, machine cut sequins and needlework sewn into a gauze leaf, sticks are tinted mother-of-pearl, 7.25"; 13.5"open, in ornate gilt framed box; the other,
c.1900, a fontange (after a high headdress popular at the turn of the 17/18th c, particularly in France) shaped fan with sequins and hand-painted motif on gauze with Cupid's quiver and flame of love encircled in a ring of rose, overall florals; delicate horn sticks with sequin inlay, the guard stick with pink stone, and small ring with with chain attached, 8" (guard sticks 5.5"); 11"open, in walnut shadow box
