three indistinct marks, the oval basin supported by four legs in the form of crouching winged female figures, each side with long projecting handles, 12.25"; 9.5 troy oz.
This form was used in the highlands to keep food warm. A nearly identical example, but larger, dated to the 17th c., can be found in silver room 69 at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
