Prov.: From the home of a New Hampshire gentleman and collector of American antiques. The property of Frances Fowler (1774-1794), the daughter of Elizabeth Dwight and Hon. Samuel Fowler and granddaughter of Captain Edmund Dwight and Elizabeth Scutt. They were part of the setting up of her marriage to Dr. Pomeroy of Albany, New York. Sadly, Frances died on the eve of her marriage. This provenance comes from family papers of the consignor's late wife, a Dwight descendent, and are in the Dwight Collection at the Norman Rockwell Museum.
