"This painting has been in my family for quite some time, my understanding is it was originally given to my grandfather some time during the 1920s as settlement of a bar tab at his hotel, The Lenox, near Copley Square in Boston's Back Bay area. The painting was subsequently passed down to his son (my father), who passed away in the 1970s, leaving it to his wife (my mother) from whose estate it is currently being sold."
