maker: Pavel Ovchininnikov (1830-1888) marked: П.Овчинниковъ
maker's mark under the handle supported by a dragon's head; Russian Empire double-eagle coat of arms under the spout; overall chased decoration incl. dragons, birds, and scrolling leaves; band of chased Cyrillic lettering under the beaded rims of each side of the boat-form bowl; the bottom etched with a sunburst of signatures; gold washed interior, 9"h; 16.25"w; 9.25"d; 84.7 troy oz.
