(2) LATIN AMERICAN MAJOLICA BOWLS, MONTIEL STUDIO
Guatemala, late 19th c., typical green, yellow, cream and black glaze, one with a deer, 9"diam., the other with a dove, 9.5"diam.
The Montiel family produced majolica in Antigua during the 19th and early 20th centuries. See Marion Oetinger's "Folk Art of Spain and the Americas"
Ex. the collection of a Connecticut gentleman and his wife who resided in Latin America for many years beginning in the early 1960's.
