4-panels of very fine needlework on silk, each a wooded landscape in the fall, three with streams, mounted in mahogany frames laced together, lattice-work below each panel, 68"h; each panel 26"w; each needlework measures 52.75"h; 22.75"w (sight)
Family history says that this screen was created for and exhibited at the Alaskan Yukon Pacific Exposition in Washington state, 1909-1910.
Historical note: Apparently, the prize for a raffle at this exposition was a four month old baby. No one claimed the prize, and since then, the whereabouts of this baby remains a mystery.
The needlework panels are protected with plexiglass. A few small places of threads loose. Third panel from left, in upper right corner has 4" vertical area of old impact damage.
