c. 1800, double-sided, carved and painted tagua-nut, one side depicting crowned Madonna, the reverse with Madonna and Child, set in oval silver and parcel-gilt openwork frame with beveled glass, 3" by 2.25"; displayed in glass dome
Ex the private collection of a Connecticut gentleman and his wife who resided for ten years in Latin America beginning in 1962.
Paint fade; particularly to one side.
