Boyden was born in Boston and attended M.I.T. In 1882 he went to Paris to study art for 16 years. He attended Academy Julian and was a pupil of Gustave Boulanger and Juses LeFebre. While in Paris, Boyden won several awards the the Paris salon including a gold medal in 1900. His work rarely appears on the market.
