called a Pava con Hornillo, 19th c.
rectangular footed form with raised and chased decoration, double covered chambers, one compartment for hot water, the other for hot coals, side compartment/scoop for removing coals, swing handle and paw feet, 12"h (incl. handle); 11"w; 5"d; 54 troy oz.
From the collection of a Connecticut gentleman who lived in Latin America for many years.
This device being somewhat awkward to use, never gained much following, therefore is quite uncommon.
