Davis was an itinerant artist who worked primarily in Dover, New Hampshire and nearby towns in Maine between 1832-1837. He is often referred to as the left-hand artist, as one of his rarely signed works was signed with his name and left hand painter.
Professional restoration to small tear to top edge, middle left edge and lower edge; repair area to front of child's dress; a few tiny holes near upper left corner; minor fading in carpet to black.
