15TH C. MAIOLICA CERAMIC MORTAR
Italian or Spanish, off-white ground with green and brown decoration, unglazed foot, 7"
A similar mortar is in the Museum Boymans-van-Beuningen, Rotterdam.
The unglazed foot indicates that the mortar was set into a hole in the surface of the table for stability.
