cobalt glazed urn mounted with putto to each side holding a knotted rope which entwines and threads through rings; mounted on gilt bronze base with inset relief plaques of cherubs playing musical instuments, 27"h; base 11"sq.
Part of the original lavish decorations of Boston's Keith Memorial Theatre at 539 Washington St., later sold to become RKO-Keith Theatre. Descended through the family of one of the RKO Theatre's owners.
Chip and part of porcelain collar missing at bottom of urn where it joins the base (originally two parts).
