Revolutionary War period rifle/Fowler Musket-type, medium-sized cow horn carved and scrimshawed with houses, several tall ships, trees, etc.., 9.5"
Prov.: Stanton-Davis Farms, Stonington, CT
Stanton-Davis Farms is the oldest home in Stonington, CT. This homestead was built by Thomas Stanton c. 1670. The home has been in the same family for 11 generations, and the farm has been worked every year since 1654. Today the homestead is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Splits at wide base, original wooden base plug now loose. Overall very good with expected signs of use and wear. Original eye-type suspension peg.
