Prov.: Descended through family of original owner. Firstly, Judge Andrew Wylie, District Court, Washington, D.C. (1853-1871) at his D.C. residence at 1205 Thomas Circle. It then passed to his grandaughter, Katherine Virginia Wylie Lawrence and Bishop Frederic C. Lawrence of Boston; then to their daughter Katharine Lawrence, to the present owner, her brother.
Ephraim Downs (1787-1860) in business from 1810-1842 worked with Eli Terry, Silas Hoadley and Seth Thomas in the early Connecticut clock trade.
