terrestrial and celestial, each globe with brass hour disc, hand-colored engraved paper ring, mounted on mahogany tripod stand with twist-carved standard, the splay legs joined by compass stretcher with round wooden compass case enclosing a paper compass card., ending in brass casters, globes 15" diam.; 40"h
John Cary (1754-1835) and his brother William, predominantly considered the one of the leading British globe and map makers of later Georgian period.
