Condition: top goes with the bottom; feet are original to the piece; the center finial appears original the side two are probably 19th c. replacements; the lid has small minor replacement patches around the hinges; the interior writing surface next to the lid has a 1.5" horizontal strip added; the brasses are probably old replacements but there are no extra holes; moldings and backboards are all original; secondary wood is poplar; it has presence and style
