Ulisse Catagalli took over the family business in Florence in 1878 and began producing ceramics in the Renaissance style which made him internationally successful, particularly in England because of his friendship with William de Morgan, Britain's most talented and admired pottery and tile designer of that time. Cantagalli died in 1901. His wife and daughater continued to operate the factory in Florence until 1934.
Condition: as is, the one with the blue rooster mark; chip to top of hat; broken in half; glued at waist
