Condition: Very small scattered in-paint (barely worth mentioning), also small scratch upper left.
Thomas later changed his name to Thomas Kilby Smith. Served with Gen. Grant at Shiloh and Vicksburg. See "Life and Letters of Thomas Kilby Smith, Brevet Major-General, US Volunteers 1820-1887" by the General's son, Walter George Smith.
